Mr Alex Anderson
Alex Anderson was appointed as an NHS Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Rotherham General Hospital in 2007 after his training in the North Trent Region. He specialises in knee surgery following higher surgical training knee fellowships in Harrogate and Sheffield.
He treats all aspects of knee surgery in patients of all ages including complex problems from arthroscopy and soft tissue surgery for sports injuries through to arthroplasty (primary and revision). This includes single and multiple ligament reconstruction, meniscal and chondral disorders, unicompartmental (partial) knee replacements and he is involved in an international trial of patient specific instruments (customised) for knee replacement.
He continues to develop the service at Rotherham enhancing the departments growing reputation. Alex is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, he is presently a member of a number of orthopaedic societies (BOA, BASK, ISAKOS, ESSKA) and continues to be actively involved in research having published in national and international journals. He enjoys teaching and training junior doctors and future surgeons as faculty on national exam courses arthroscopic workshops.
